About Camp Fowler
We will be hosted by Director Rev. Kent Busman and members of his excellent summer staff. Camp Fowler is affiliated with the Reformed Church in America, endorsed by the United Church of Christ, and accredited by the American Camp Association. In addition to holding youth camp all summer long, Camp Fowler is home to several different retreats for quilters, ministers, naturalists, Muslim families, non-profit boards, and also hosts its fair share of weddings. ON the shore of Lake Sacandaga, you'll find Adirondack style cabins and buildings, a gorgeous chapel, porches for siting, waterfront fro swimming and canoe launching, groomed hiking trails, open fields, intentional and local food, and...indoor plumbing. Lodging
All effort will be made to make sure everyone is comfortable, knowing that we will need to share space. Lodging will happen in two places at Camp:
-
Chi Rho House: 12 rooms, each with two twin beds and a private bathroom. Further away from center of camp (5ish minute walk down a dirt road).
-
Camper Cabins: 15 cabins in two areas, each with 8 beds and half bath, one shower house in each area. Very close to center of camp (1ish minute walk).
Food
Camp Fowler is very intentional about the food they serve. As much as is possible, they use locally sourced dairy and vegetables, ethically and locally raised meat and eggs, make their own bread, and have a garden and compost on site. The food will be good. Dietary restrictions will be accommodated as much as possible.
Please Note
While the responsible consumption of alcohol is allowed on camp property during retreats, smoking of any kind is never allowed on property. If this is a problem for you; if you need a sober space or tips on where it is ok to smoke, please check in with Pastor Reilly.
